PROFESSIONAL MUSIC TEACHINGS

PROFESSIONAL TEACHINGS

The pedagogical content has been programmed, studied and tested by our teaching team

RHYTHMIC

This section includes activities to practise basic rhythm skills: hand independence (tap different rhythms with both hands individually), beat changing, syncopation, identify tempo, etc.; as well as exercises that combine a sung part with a clapping rhythm.
aulavirtualmusica.com platform also has an instant correction system that allows both students and teachers to control the progresses

LESSONS

1st year: each unit contains two lessons designed to practice the topics programmed for this level. This part also includes an extract of a vocal work.

2nd year: each unit offers 4 lessons to work on several concepts: the first focuses on transposition, the second is designed to train the beat change and intonation issues, the third is a two-voice-lesson (ear training) and the fourth contains an orchestral fragment of a great composer to sing and train pitch accuracy.

At the same time, students can practice intonation with self-correcting exercises on the platform, and both they and their teacher can monitor progresses.

DICTATION

First year units contain one-voice and two-voice dictations designed to practice the musical contents associated to this level.

Second year adds three-voice dictations (mostly chords) in each unit.

As is usual in Aulavirtualmusica.com, students can continue practicing with all these resources at home. This part also offers a self-correcting exercise program about intervals and other related topics.

CLEFS

Learning how to read notes in different clefs may be a significant factor in music learning and appears as a transversal subject cutting across many other areas. For this aulavirtualmusica.com offers a specific section to learn gradually the reading in each one of the clefs. This part also includes a random readings generator in order to help students to improve their reading skills.

This section includes also a specific game to make this training easier in the use of each new clef.

HARMONY AND ANALYSIS

In this part we will focus on harmony and harmonic analysis: chords (and its names and symbols), keys, notation, musical standard forms, and how all of these concepts work together.

Each unit contains a theoretical exercise to study in depth these topics and a tutorial video (produced by aulavirtualmusica.com) with an extensive explanation and visual examples.

Finally, to better assimilate studied concepts each unit offers a listening exercise with a recording of a musical piece.

MUSIC THEORY

In this part students will find all the theoretical learning contents corresponding to 1st and 2nd courses of Professional musical teachings. All units contain practical exercises randomly generated, enabling students to practice the studied concepts as many times as needed. The platform corrects every exercise immediately and and cloud sync the progress across various devices (smartphone, computer, tablet, etc.)

This section also contains videos (produced by aulavirtualmusica.com) that explain the different aspects of music theory presented in each unit with more examples in a really engaging visual way.

ANALYSIS MODULE

With this module students will know the chords, the parts, the keys, the intervals, the harmonic function, etc. Creating melodies has never been as simple as with our analysis module. It also includes videos and practical exercises.

HEARING MODULE

With this module students will know the chords, the parts, the keys, the intervals, the harmonic function, etc. Creating melodies has never been as simple as with our analysis module. It also includes videos and practical exercises.

DICTATION MODULE PLUS

This module includes dictations of chords, scales and some other basic exercises for two voices.

The platform includes a series of resources for teachers (and our team is constantly adding new more items and applications) based on the needs that the members of our community of teachers detect in their music chools.

We currently have:

  • Staves template to use on digital whiteboards or touch panels.
  • Rhythm random generator in simple and compound measures.
  • Generator of in sight readings in different clefs.
  • Intonation exercises in real time programmable by the teacher.
